Wyrmwood Gaming is at it again, making a new set of customized gear for people who like tabletop Gaming. We covered their experimental hero vaults last time, with the focus being on offering customizable dice-vaults for your favorite tabletop game, made the way you want it.
This time however, Wyrmwood has focused in on making something for a particular crowd - the players of Warmachine and Hordes, by Privateer Press. The kickstarter has some great stuff in it, so lets go ahead and take a look.
I know that I've talked about how much I love Wargaming in the past, and one of the reasons I do is because how it returns on your investments of time and money. The more time you put into painting and collecting your favorite army, the more satisfaction is felt when you put them down onto the battlefield. The more you work through to figure out your own special army list, the better it feels when you drive your foes before you and hear the lamentations of their women. It's for this reason that this new Wyrmwood project speaks to me: it's another way to personalize what you bring to the table as a complete set.
Regardless of the faction you choose, these projects are a love letter to the game world
As a limited run, Wyrmwood has made both personalized Hero Vaults for dice, or full dice trays that are personalized with the logos of the individual factions in the universe that Privateer Press has made. The hero vaults are a solid option to go with instead of a dice pouch, while the dice tray set is a complete arrangement, meant to be a place to house your luck away from the battlefield itself. While engravings are available, the kickstarter comes with logos already on it, which is a great deal. Of course, you can always go with their very nice, very expensive masterwork sets if you want to feel like you are the bourgeoisie at the table.
These are wallet-breaking, but are the real deal. They'll probably last longer than you in their construction!
At the same time, Wyrmwood's done something wonderful, creating a backing tier for Press Gangers; these are the players that help promote the game for Privateer Press, and the tier gives those players a free extra engraving. It's a nice touch that shows that the company is not only a fan of making shiny things, but also supporting individual gaming communities.
I'm not just talking about these Kickstarter projects because they look good; during the last one, I invested rather heavily to get myself something nice, as well as getting Christmas presents. It was worth it, as many of my gaming friends wanted something more unique than a dice pouch for rolling up to Dungeons and Dragons with. From personal experience, it does fit your basic miniature, and leaves enough room for the dice you need to bring with you.
My own personal vault - It's a joy to bring to Dungeons and Dragon sessions, and someone always asks where I got it.
If you are a fan of Warmachine or Hordes, this is something I'm sure you can find an interest in. It's been personalized for your favorite faction, it's durable and stands out, and of course, is just a lot nicer than rolling your die off the table repeatedly. I know I'm working to scrounge out enough cash for a little something for my Circle Oroboros.
What are you waiting for? This kickstarter only has about 24 hours to go, so if this is something you are interested in, jump on the project while you still can!
